As a first focal plane design, the reticle scales proportionally with magnification, so the AMX holdover marks remain accurate at any zoom setting throughout the 4–16× range. The reticle is illuminated in red only across 6 brightness levels with off positions between each step.

The Hawke Airmax 30 FFP series is Hawke's specialist first focal plane airgun scope range, designed for field target, HFT, and precision airgun competition where a reticle that scales correctly at any magnification setting is a practical requirement. The series uses the same 30mm wide-angle chassis as the standard Airmax 30 SF models, combined with a first focal plane AMX reticle calibrated for airgun trajectories.

All models in the Airmax 30 FFP series feature 16-layer fully multi-coated lenses, side focus parallax from 9 metres to infinity, a removable large-diameter sidewheel, capped resettable target turrets with 1/10 MRAD click values, and single-colour red illumination. The wide-angle optical design provides a substantially broader field of view at minimum magnification than standard (non-WA) airgun scopes in the same magnification classes. The series is available in two configurations: the 4-16x50 for general field target and HFT use, and the 6-24x50 for shooters who require higher maximum magnification.

The Hawke Airmax 30 SF 4-16x50 FFP AMX IR is a first focal plane airgun scope designed for field target (FT) and hunter field target (HFT) competition, precision airgun shooting, and any airgun application where an accurate reticle at any magnification setting is a practical advantage. The 4–16× magnification range with a field of view of 10.8 metres at 100 metres at minimum power covers close-range target acquisition through to precise shot placement at the extended distances used in field target competition.

The 50mm objective lens, combined with the 30mm wide-angle chassis and 16-layer fully multi-coated lenses, provides high light transmission and a bright, clear image across the magnification range. An exit pupil of 12.5 mm at 4× supports image brightness in low-light conditions. The 90mm of eye relief is compatible with a range of air rifle platforms.

The FFP AMX IR reticle scales with magnification across the full 4–16× range, so the airgun-calibrated holdover marks remain accurate at every zoom setting — an advantage in field target competition where the shooter may select different magnifications for different distances during a stage. The reticle is illuminated in red with 6 brightness levels and off positions between each step. The side-mounted parallax covers 9 metres to infinity and is complemented by the supplied 4" removable sidewheel, which provides tactile parallax setting by feel. The capped target turrets provide 21 MRAD of elevation and windage adjustment in 1/10 MRAD click increments — directly compatible with the MRAD-based AMX reticle.
