About the Anschütz 

Founded in 1856 by Julius Gottfried Anschütz in Zella-Mehlis, Thuringia, Anschütz started as a small workshop. Under the leadership of the Anschütz family, it grew into a major firearm manufacturer. The company relocated to a larger factory after World War II. A new beginning was marked in 1950 in Ulm, where J.G. The Anschutz 1780 is a high-end bolt-action hunting rifle known for its precision and robust build. This model features a smooth push-feed action with a bolt that has six locking lugs arranged in two rows. The receiver is constructed from high-grade aluminum and includes five drilled and tapped holes (two in the front and three in the back) for mounting scopes. The rifle measures approximately 1090 mm (42.9 inches) in length, weighs around 3200 g (7.1 lbs), and comes with front iron sights.

Mounting Instructions

Clean the rifle's receiver thoroughly with a cleaning fluid, such as acetone, to remove all stains, grease, and oil. Once the surface is clean and dry, verify that the screws fit both the rail and the receiver holes. Before mounting the rail, apply a minimal amount of thread-locking fluid (278 or 648) to the screws, avoiding any contact with the mounting holes. Carefully clean any excess fluid around the rail using the cleaning fluid. Using a torque driver, tighten the screws to the appropriate torque (up to 3 Nm/26.5 in-lbs).
