• Precision Zero Stop: The exposed elevation turret features Athlon's precision zero stop system, so after dialling for a longer shot the turret returns to the original zero with a firm, positive stop – no counting clicks back.
• Locking Windage Turret: The windage turret is pulled up to dial and pushed down to lock, preventing accidental adjustments when the rifle is carried, slung or placed in a gun case.
• Parallax Down to 10 Yards: The side focus parallax adjustment from 10 yards (9.1 m) to infinity makes the riflescope suitable for airguns and rimfire rifles at short range as well as for centrefire hunting rifles at longer distances.
• Etched Glass Reticle in MOA or MIL: The AAGR1 second focal plane reticle is available in MOA or MIL, each matched to turrets with the same unit, so reticle holds and turret adjustments use the same measurement system.

ABOUT THE ATHLON HERAS SPR SERIES

The Athlon Heras SPR series is Athlon's modern take on the hunting riflescope. It combines the familiar layout of a hunting scope with features usually found on tactical and long-range optics, such as locking turrets, a precision zero stop and a choice of second focal plane (SFP) and first focal plane (FFP) reticles in MOA or MIL.

The series covers a wide range of applications. The 2-12x42 and 4-20x50 models use a 1-inch main tube and non-illuminated AAGR1 and AAGR2 reticles, while the 6-24x56 models are built on a 30 mm tube and offer illuminated APLR and APRS reticles in both SFP and FFP. The 15-60x56 with the BLR2 reticle is intended for long-range shooting. With a minimum parallax setting of 10 yards, the Heras SPR range is also well suited to airguns and small-bore rifles.

All models are made from aircraft-grade aluminum with one-piece tube construction and are argon purged, waterproof, fogproof and shockproof. Advanced fully multi-coated lenses provide good light transmission, brightness and true colour rendition for hunting and target shooting alike.

ABOUT THE MODEL (ATHLON HERAS SPR 2-12X42)

The Athlon Heras SPR 2-12x42 is Athlon's modern update to the classic 3-9x40 hunting scope. Its 6× zoom ratio covers close-range shots at 2×, where the wide field of view of 18.6 m at 100 m helps with fast target acquisition, and precise aiming at longer distances at 12×. The 42 mm objective lens keeps the riflescope compact, with a length of 300 mm, which makes it easy to mount on hunting rifles, rimfire rifles and airguns.

The etched glass AAGR1 reticle sits in the second focal plane, so it stays the same size at every magnification. The MOA version has a 0.3 MOA floating centre dot, 1 MOA hash marks in all four directions and floating dots every 10 MOA. The MIL version has a 0.07 mil floating centre dot, 0.2 mil hash marks with dots at every 1 mil, and reference marks extending 8 mil to each side, 9 mil down and 4 mil up. Both reticles are designed for precise short and mid-range shooting and support holdovers, wind corrections, leads on moving targets and ranging, with subtensions valid at 12×.

The exposed elevation turret with precision zero stop and the locking windage turret adjust in 0.25 MOA clicks with 25 MOA per rotation and 70 MOA of total travel on the MOA version, or 0.1 MIL clicks with 10 MIL per rotation and 21 MIL of total travel on the MIL version. A fast focus eyepiece allows quick reticle focusing, and a high-precision erector system supports repeatable turret adjustments.
