Athlon Heras SPR 6-24x56

• Choice of SFP or FFP Reticle: The 6-24x56 is the only magnification range in the Heras SPR line offered with both second focal plane and first focal plane reticles, in MOA or MIL, so shooters can choose the reticle behaviour that suits their style of shooting.
• Illuminated Reticle: All versions feature an illuminated reticle with variable brightness settings and an off position between each setting, allowing the illumination to be switched on and off quickly at the preferred brightness.
• Precision Zero Stop and Locking Windage Turret: The exposed elevation turret returns to zero with a firm, positive stop after dialling, while the windage turret is pulled up to dial and pushed down to lock, preventing accidental adjustments in the field.
• Parallax Down to 10 Yards: The side focus parallax adjustment from 10 yards (9.1 m) to infinity allows the high-magnification riflescope to be used on airguns and small-calibre rifles at short distances as well as on centrefire rifles at long range.

ABOUT THE ATHLON HERAS SPR SERIES

The Athlon Heras SPR series is Athlon's modern take on the hunting riflescope. It combines the familiar layout of a hunting scope with features usually found on tactical and long-range optics, such as locking turrets, a precision zero stop and a choice of second focal plane (SFP) and first focal plane (FFP) reticles in MOA or MIL.

The series covers a wide range of applications. The 2-12x42 and 4-20x50 models use a 1-inch main tube and non-illuminated AAGR1 and AAGR2 reticles, while the 6-24x56 models are built on a 30 mm tube and offer illuminated APLR and APRS reticles in both SFP and FFP. The 15-60x56 with the BLR2 reticle is intended for long-range shooting. With a minimum parallax setting of 10 yards, the Heras SPR range is also well suited to airguns and small-bore rifles.

All models are made from aircraft-grade aluminum with one-piece tube construction and are argon purged, waterproof, fogproof and shockproof. Advanced fully multi-coated lenses provide good light transmission, brightness and true colour rendition for hunting and target shooting alike.

ABOUT THE MODEL (ATHLON HERAS SPR 6-24X56)

The Athlon Heras SPR 6-24x56 is designed to push small-calibre rifles and airguns to longer distances, while also serving centrefire rifles for long-range hunting and target shooting. The 6–24× magnification range and the large 56 mm objective lens provide a bright image and fine detail at distance. It is built on a 30 mm main tube with an etched glass illuminated reticle, which is powered by a CR2032 battery.

Three second focal plane reticles are available, all with subtensions valid at 16×. The APLR7 MOA has an illuminated 0.3 MOA floating centre dot, 1 MOA hash marks and dot drop lines from 5 to 30 MOA below the centre. The APRS7 MIL combines an illuminated 0.07 mil centre dot with 0.2 mil hash marks and dot drop lines from 1 to 6 mil. The APRS8 MIL features an illuminated 2 mil centre section with a 0.07 mil floating centre dot and 0.2 mil hash marks in all four directions.

Two first focal plane reticles keep their subtensions accurate at every magnification, making holdovers and ranging possible without setting a specific power. The APLR9 MOA has a 0.3 MOA floating centre dot, 1 MOA hash marks and drop lines every 5 MOA down to 25 MOA. The APRS9 MIL, designed with precision rifle competition and long-range shooting in mind, has a 0.04 mil floating centre dot, 0.2 mil hash marks and rows of holdover dots from the 1 mil to the 6 mil drop line.

The turrets adjust in 0.25 MOA clicks with 25 MOA per rotation and 70 MOA of total travel on the MOA versions, or 0.1 MIL clicks with 10 MIL per rotation and 20 MIL of total travel on the MIL versions. A fast focus eyepiece and a high-precision erector system complete the package.
