Athlon Midas Tac 4-16x44 Gen2 HD

• Versatile 4–16× Magnification: The 4× setting offers a wide field of view of 9.2 m at 100 m for fast target acquisition, while 16× provides enough detail for precise shots at longer distances, making the scope well suited to both hunting and precision shooting.
• APRS14 First Focal Plane Reticle: The etched glass MIL reticle scales with magnification, so holdovers, wind corrections, and ranging values stay accurate at every power. Fine 0.2 mil and 0.1 mil hash marks allow precise holds.
• Exposed Elevation Turret with Precision Zero Stop: 0.1 MIL clicks and 30 MIL of elevation travel make dialling for distance straightforward, and the zero stop ensures a fast, reliable return to zero. The capped windage turret protects the windage setting from accidental adjustment.
• Side Focus from 9 m: Parallax adjustment from 9 m (10 yds) to infinity ensures a sharp image and accurate aim at short distances, including rimfire and close-range training, as well as at long range.

ABOUT THE MIDAS TAC GEN2 SERIES

The Athlon Midas TAC GEN2 series is a line of first focal plane riflescopes that focuses on the balance between price and performance. It offers features usually associated with more expensive optics, making it a popular choice for shooters getting into precision rifle shooting, long-range target work, and hunting.

The series includes the 4-16×44, a compact and versatile option for medium to long distances, and the 6-24×50, which offers more magnification for long-range shooting and is available with the APRS14 FFP MIL, APRS15 FFP MIL, and APLR15 FFP MOA reticles. The range is completed by the 5-30×56, which uses UHD glass and an illuminated APRS16 FFP IR MIL reticle for shooters who want even more magnification and optical performance.

The HD models use low dispersion HD glass, advanced fully multi-coated lenses, and an XPL protective coating on the external lens surfaces. Mechanically, they feature an exposed elevation turret with a precision zero stop, a high precision erector system, and side focus parallax adjustment. The one-piece aircraft-grade aluminium tube is argon purged and built to be waterproof, fogproof, and shockproof.

ABOUT THE MODEL (ATHLON MIDAS TAC 4-16X44 GEN2 HD)

The Athlon Midas TAC 4-16×44 GEN2 HD is a compact first focal plane riflescope for shooters who want a versatile optic for hunting, precision rifle training, and medium- to long-range target shooting. Its 4–16× magnification range covers most practical shooting distances, and with a length of 361 mm and a weight of 675 g, it suits lighter hunting rifles as well as rimfire and centerfire precision rifles.

The 44 mm objective lens, HD glass with low dispersion lenses, and advanced fully multi-coated optics provide a bright, sharp image with true colour rendition, supporting reliable target identification in changing light conditions.

The APRS14 FFP MIL reticle is designed for Precision Rifle Series competition and other long-range applications that require accurate ranging. It features 0.2 mil hash marks from the center to 10 mils vertically and 6 mils horizontally, followed by finer 0.1 mil marks on both sides, which helps set quick windage holds after dialling elevation. A small floating center dot provides a precise aiming point without covering the target. Because the reticle sits in the first focal plane, its subtensions remain valid at every magnification. The reticle is etched on glass and is non-illuminated, so no battery is needed.

The exposed elevation turret offers 0.1 MIL clicks, 10 MIL per rotation, and a total of 30 MIL of elevation adjustment, while the capped windage turret offers 15 MIL of travel. The elevation turret has a removable knob and a precision zero stop for a reliable return to zero. The 30 mm main tube, side focus parallax adjustment from 9 m (10 yds) to infinity, a fast focus eyepiece, and an included throw lever for quick magnification changes complete the package.
