Holdovers, ranging, and wind corrections can be applied at any magnification setting without recalculation — a practical advantage in hunting and field shooting where the shooter rarely has time to adjust for magnification before taking a shot.
• Patented Zero Lock 'N' Stop Elevation Turret: The exposed elevation turret incorporates a physical zero stop that prevents rotation below the shooter's set zero. After dialling for a long-range shot, the turret can be returned to zero simply by rotating it clockwise until it stops — with no need to count clicks or track the number of revolutions made.

The 4–20× magnification range delivers a 5× zoom ratio, with a field of view of 9.4 metres at 100 metres at minimum power — wide enough to pick up fast-moving targets quickly — and a 20× upper limit that provides adequate resolution for precise shot placement at extended hunting distances.

The 50mm objective lens, combined with the H7 optical system and 21-layer fully multi-coated lenses, provides high light transmission and a bright, detailed image across the magnification range. An exit pupil of 12.5 mm at 4× supports image brightness in low-light conditions during hunting at dawn or dusk, while the high-volume eyebox and 102 mm of eye relief allow comfortable use across different shooting positions and rifle platforms.

The scope is available in two reticle variants. The Mil Pro version (art. no. 10.18530) uses an MRAD-spaced reticle with holdover markings, paired with exposed turrets offering 0.1 MRAD click values and 23 MRAD of travel on both the elevation and windage axes. The MOA Hunter version (art. no. 10.18531) features an MOA-spaced hunting reticle with holdover markings, paired with ¼ MOA click-value turrets offering 79 MOA of travel on both axes. Both variants feature an illuminated reticle centre in red with 6 brightness levels and off positions between each step, controlled via a stepped rheostat.

The elevation turret on both variants uses Hawke's patented Zero Lock 'N' Stop system — exposed, locking, resettable, and equipped with a physical zero stop that prevents unintentional sub-zero rotation. The windage turret is also exposed and locking, but without a zero stop. Side-mounted parallax adjustment covers 14 metres to infinity. The locking fast-focus eyebell allows the dioptre setting to be secured once established, and a removable zoom throw lever is included as standard.

At 336 mm in length and 630 g, the Frontier 30 FFP 4-20x50 is the lightest and most compact model in the Frontier FFP range, making it a practical choice for hunters covering ground on foot.
