Athlon Talos HMR 6-24x50

• 6–24× Magnification for Long Range: The wide 6–24× magnification range is suited to open-field hunting, helping the hunter spot game at 6× and place precise shots at extended distances at 24×.
• Illuminated Holdover Reticles: Choose between the APLR-H2 SFP IR MOA with 2 MOA subtensions and the APRS-H2 SFP IR MIL with 0.5 MIL and 0.2 MIL subtensions. Both allow quick holdovers for bullet drop, wind and moving targets without touching the turrets.
• Open Upper Field of View: Both reticles keep the area above the crosshair largely free, with an illuminated floating centre, so less of the target is covered and it stays easy to spot.
• Side Focus Parallax from 10 Yards: The side focus parallax adjustment from 10 yards to infinity removes parallax error at high magnification and keeps target and reticle sharp at any distance.

ABOUT THE ATHLON TALOS HMR SERIES

The Athlon Talos HMR series is a line of hunting riflescopes that combines modern optical performance with a traditional design. It is aimed at hunters of all types who want a straightforward, easy-to-use optic with a reticle suited to their style of hunting.

The series covers a wide range of applications. The fixed-power 1×24 model is intended for close-range hunting and muzzleloaders. The 3-12×50 and 4-16×56 models are versatile all-round hunting scopes with larger objectives for good performance in low light. The 6-24×50 models serve hunters and shooters who need more magnification for longer distances.

All Talos HMR riflescopes are built on a 30 mm main tube and use second focal plane reticles, which keep the same visual size at every magnification. Reticle options include the simple Center-X, the BDC600 ballistic reticle, the AHMC hunting reticle and the APLR-H2 (MOA) and APRS-H2 (MIL) holdover reticles, several of them illuminated. Fully multi-coated lenses provide good light transmission, brightness and natural colours, while the sealed, nitrogen-purged construction keeps the optics waterproof and fogproof in the field.

ABOUT THE MODEL (ATHLON TALOS HMR 6-24X50)

The Athlon Talos HMR 6-24×50 is the long-range model of the series, designed for hunters who shoot across open fields, meadows and mountain terrain. Its wide magnification range helps the hunter first locate the target and then hit it with precision at extended distances.

At 6×, the field of view of 6.6 m at 100 m is wide enough for observing and following game, while 24× reveals the detail needed for accurate shot placement on small or distant targets. The 50 mm objective lens and fully multi-coated optics provide a bright, clear image with natural colours.

The scope is available with two illuminated second focal plane reticles. The APLR-H2 SFP IR MOA is an easy-to-see long-range reticle with 2 MOA subtensions and an illuminated floating centre crosshair. Its outer posts taper to a point that draws the eye to the centre, and only 10 MOA of vertical reticle above the crosshair keeps the upper field of view open. The APRS-H2 SFP IR MIL features an illuminated centre dot with 0.5 MIL subtensions out to 4 MIL and 0.2 MIL subtensions beyond, with hash marks spanning 6 MIL left and right and 10 MIL down from the centre. It has no upper post, which leaves the view above the target unobstructed. Both reticles can be used for ranging, bullet drop holdovers, wind corrections and leading moving targets, and their subtensions are valid at 16×. Illumination is powered by a CR2032 battery.

The capped turrets protect the zero from accidental changes and can be reset to zero after sighting in. The MOA version adjusts in 0.25 MOA clicks with 15 MOA per rotation and 60 MOA of total travel, while the MIL version adjusts in 0.1 MIL clicks with 6 MIL per rotation and 18 MIL of total travel, so reticle and turrets always use the same units. The side focus parallax adjustment works from 10 yards to infinity, and the fast focus eyepiece allows quick reticle focusing. Eye relief is 95–99 mm.

The one-piece aircraft-grade aluminium tube is nitrogen purged, waterproof, fogproof and shockproof, so the riflescope stays reliable in rain, snow and changing temperatures.

ABOUT ATHLON

Athlon Optics is an American sports optics company based in Kansas. The name comes from the ancient Greek word for "prize" or "medal". The company focuses on designing and delivering quality optics at a competitive price, relying on its own engineering capabilities, partnerships with manufacturing facilities and a streamlined supply chain.

Athlon's manufacturing partners use vertically integrated production facilities with cleanroom assembly, high-precision CNC machining, advanced lens polishing and coating equipment. All Athlon optical products are tested for waterproofing, fog-proofing and shock-proofing before shipping.

The Athlon product range includes riflescopes, red dot sights and prism scopes, binoculars, spotting scopes, thermal imaging devices, laser rangefinders and a variety of accessories for hunting, sport shooting and tactical use.
